Pastoral Placement Forms

CB Southern California uses a Pastoral Placement Form as a vital tool to assist us in this important ministry. All of the CB Regional Offices are using the same Pastoral Placement Form. We recognize that some people have put together their own résumés for use in the churches, but the information we request is what search committees have asked for, so we ask that you also complete our form.

The placement form, when completed, will give Search Committees a listing of churches you have served, your education, your ministry style, your basic philosophy of ministry, and a list of references that can be contacted when cleared with you. (It is important that you mark "yes" or "no" on the reference form, so that the names are not released without your permission.) Please check carefully for misspelled words. Also, please be realistic in all of your responses.

The Cost

We charge a one-time fee of $50 for our Pastoral Placement Services. We will also distribute this form at no additional cost to all other CB regions as requested.

Our Procedures

As your name is sent out from our office to any Search Committee, will be attempt to keep you notified so you can begin to pray concerning the possibility. We leave it up to the local church to inform you when you are no longer under consideration by a particular Search Committee. By periodically checking with our office, you can keep informed concerning what is happening in the event a church should fail to inform you of their final action. Your $50 fee will allow your file to remain active for one year.

If there should be any unusual circumstances that could surface in the study of your Placement Form, be sure to inform us at CB Southern California of this fact. If you have been in the ministry, stepped out for any reason at all, and then are coming back to apply for placement, please give the details as to the reason for your period of inactivity.

If you or your wife have been divorced and remarried and are now presently in ministry, we need to know the details concerning this issue and be given permission to share it with any Search Committee. Some of our churches are willing to consider such candidates while others are not. We need to keep the Search Committees well informed.

Southern California is an attractive area for pastoral ministry, and many men are desirous of coming here. If you are currently out-of-state, you need to know that moving costs can sometimes be an important factor for churches, as well as the cost of travel for applicants to interview and candidate. However, that will not keep us from presenting your Placement Form to churches where it appears to be appropriate. God, after all, is in charge of placement, and we are all open to His will, regardless of distance.

Please let CB Southern California know when you have been placed so that we can remove your name from our file.
