Valley Bible Church is offering an exciting
opportunity for a part-time Pastor of Student Ministries to join
our talented staff! The ideal candidate will be responsible for
outreach and connecting with youth, providing them with
fellowship and spiritual growth while overseeing high-energy
services, worship and bible studies. This is currently a 20-25
hour per week position; however, full-time employment is
possible. The position becomes available September 1st,
2011.
Valley Bible Church is located in the North San
Diego community of San Marcos, the fastest growing city in the
entire county. Affiliated with the Conservative Baptist
Association, we have over a 50-year history of ministry and
impact for Christ. Our average Sunday morning attendance is
150. The compensation package for this position includes free
tuition for children attending our private Christian School (K –
8th), time off for vacation, paid holidays throughout
the year, and a personal office.

currently has 500 attenders each weekend, is rapidly growing, is
strategically located to make a huge difference in Milwaukie,
Oregon and throughout metro Portland.
Ministry Mobilization:
Giving leadership with the staff, lay leaders, ministry teams,
and
volunteers to develop new strategic initiatives and to
strengthen key
ministry areas. (50%)
Pastoral Leadership: In keeping with his particular gifting,
having a
strong pastoral presence in the church including
teaching, pastoral care, and ministerial functions. (30%)
Staff Team Building:
Partnering with the Lead Pastor to help build the staff team
through
coaching, encouragement, partnership, and example. (20%)

integrity
in their personal and family life, interpersonal relationships,
and
local church life. à Complementary attributes to the existing
staff
team, bringing a strength mix and experience background that
will both fit and enhance the Lead Pastor and the existing
staff.
àInternal motivation, with a proven track record of being a
self-‐starter who is able to motivate both himself and others
to initiate projects and see them through to completion.
Organizational competence, with a proven track
record in a multi-‐staff setting, including effective
communication, attention to detail, and follow-through. à
Strong pastoral experience with a proven track record of
seasoned pastoral ministry – teaching, leading, and caring. It
is expected that this will include formal, theological and
ministry training along with an extended background of
vocational pastoral ministry.
