 COLLEGES & SEMINARIES

Conservative Baptist Association over the years has started several excellent schools across the
United States.

The Portland Baptist Bible Institute was organized in the winter of 1925. In 1926, efforts were begun to replace the Bible Institute with a graduate-level seminary to provide more adequate theological education in the Northwest. Western Baptist Theological Seminary was officially dedicated on October 4, 1927. Western Seminary now serves hundreds of students in three western locations; Portland, San Jose and Sacramento.

Southwestern College began under the leadership of pastors in the Sun Valley Conservative Baptist Association.
In June of 1960, the college was officially launched and is now a fully accredited four year liberal arts Christian College. As an accredited, degree granting institution, Southwestern draws students from around the country, and the
college’s ministry to the evangelical community continues to expand as it continues to be associated with CBA.
