Welcome to CB Southern California

The Conservative Baptist Association of Southern California started in 1954 as an association of churches and ministries coming together to defend and promote the gospel of Jesus Christ. We continue to establish, encourage and strengthen churches throughout Southern California, Hawaii and Guam. CB Southern California focuses on three areas: Leadership Development, Church Health and Church Planting. If you would like to help us help churches, donate by clicking the button on the right. Thank you.

Enjoy learning about our association and thanks for visiting!

Sample prayer to become a Christian.

Dear Lord, Thank you for dying on the cross for my sin. I admit I am a sinner and ask you to take control of my life. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Help me to become the kind of person you want me to become as I grow as a Christian.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen

what's happening around CBSC?

jimI liked my backyard. Pool and patio looked good. But my daughters, mothers of growing children who run around too close to the pool, said I needed to get a temporary fence put around the pool, otherwise they would not feel safe around our house. Since I love my grandkids and my daughters, I now have a new and improved backyard, with a temporary fence.

We all are like that, I hope. We like what we have, but we always could improve it for the benefit of others. Paul said, "do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others." (Phil 2:4 NASB) I wonder if he was thinking of temporary fences? How about understanding the need for new music, a more effective preaching style, using PowerPoint, different clothing styles, technology changes, new paint, clean restrooms or just a good attitude about things that change. Jesus seems to want us to continue to improve and make changes. Even if we are doing well, he said that the Father "cuts off every branch of mine that doesn't produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more." (John 15:2 NLT) "Good is the Enemy of Great" is the first sentence of Jim Collins' business best seller, Good to Great. What can you improve?
